The Book of Games, 1805

In Remarks on Children's Play, 1811, this game was identified as "trap-ball," but it more closely resembles baseball.

Illustration for the month of April in the German children's almanac Taschenbuch für das Jahr 1815 der Liebe und Freundschaft, 1815

The game la balle empoisonée (poisoned ball) resembled baseball in most respects, excepting that the batter would strike the ball with his bare hand instead of a bat. This illustration is taken from the French children's book Les Jeux des jeunes garçons, ca. 1815.
